Previous career / educational background

	Denise: I have a degree in Fashion Journalism, which I completed in 2006. For two years after this I worked for a fashion trend prediction company, where I was responsible for reporting trends on the catwalk and in high street stores. For a year before I started the course I worked as a Teaching Assistant with specific responsibility for children with speech and language difficulties.
	Richard: Prior to starting the SCITT course I had worked in Banking for over 20 years. During the time I left my banking career and the SCITT course starting, I spent 7 months volunteering in a local primary school. It was the best move I ever made as it gave me so much more confidence when the course started.
	Karen: I have obtained a BA(Hons) in Drama (Theatre and Media). I worked as a recruitment consultant for a reputable recruitment firm for 2 years before undertaking the SCITT course.
	Lawrence: BSc Psychology (2:1) Research assistant in Sensory Motor Neuroscience Lab in Birmingham University’s School of Psychology. Teaching assistant in a Primary School. Support worker in an Autistic School.
	Emma: I had previously worked in English language schools in a variety of roles, and had been working part-time since having my daughter. I had done some teaching whilst on a year abroad at university, where I studied Spanish and French.
	Ben: BA (Hons) Watersports Studies and Management. Previous career as a Watersports Manager: Sailing/windsurfing/Powerboating Instructor.
	Will: Achieved a five year aircraft engineer apprenticeship. Self-employed aeronautical contractor .BA Degree in Business and management. Business graduate placement. Import co-ordinator. Voluntary work teaching in South Africa.
	Sally: I worked at JP Morgan Investment bank and also did a degree in psychology.
	Francois: LLB Hons (with European Study). Worked in Private banking. Bar Vocational Course – BPP Law School, Holborn. Called to the Middle Temple Bar. Barrister at law – Temple, London.
	Judy: Marketing Manager for an international technology company. Educated to degree level in Business Studies. No direct teaching experience but travelled extensively and learnt how to work with different types of people.
	Alex: BSc in Psychology. Worked as a Teaching Assistant in a Primary School.
	Adam: Studied for a BSc degree in sport and physical education. Worked in sales for an insurance company. Worked for local council in sports coaching for children.
	Becki: BA Hons in Leisure, Tourism and Heritage Management. Experience with pastoral care of 11-16 year olds in a boarding school. Qualified sports coach, Event Management. Pianist for a restaurant in Australia.
