DMS1742Z-196% of trainees from the 2010-11 cohort are now in place in their new jobs and this has been the trend for many years where our employment status numbers are always well above the national sector figures.

The training by Poole SCITT is highly valued by schools in the Poole, Bournemouth and Dorset area and many trainees secure jobs in the local area at the end of their training.

Head teachers highlight the value of Poole SCITT as creating teachers who are academically sound, hugely reflective and professional and who have benefitted from their placement experiences across two key stages in three different schools.

During the SCITT year, there are many ways that trainees are prepared for entering the job market. Advice and guidance is given by heads and governors on selecting the right school, writing personal statements and developing interview techniques at practice interviews.

Trainees who apply for vacancies in partner schools are almost always among those chosen for interview and the employment success rate in the local area is very high. Other trainees search for work around the country and are just as successful as those applying to local schools, although some find it hard to move away from tempting local job offers.

Many past SCITT trainees have by now reached senior management positions in the local area proving that the journey begins with the training but that career development is limitless.
